However it is home to St. Georges – a Nicholas Hawksmoor church. It's a fantastic piece of architecture, recently restored, and has an interesting weather vane which I'll leave you to check out.

Bloomsbury Way is also home to the Swedenborg Society, promoting and publishing the words of Emanuel Swendenborg – the Swedish scientist, philosopher and Christian mystic. It's a lovely Grade II listed building with a rather nice font on the side! Swedenborg's writing influenced many people from William Blake to Balzac, W.B.Yeats to Carl Jung.

There are some nice garden down the end towards Sicilian Avenue too ....

Directions
From Tottenham Court Road, walk down New Oxford Street - as you see the big church to your left - you'll know you're there!

-

The Way We See It | New Location | Store Street

Store Street| due 19 May 2008

June 6th is not only a date to remember due to it being my 40th Birthday - no, this is also the day that the lease runs out on what is reckoned to be London's oldest Service Station - and this is one of the reasons that draws us this week to Store Street in the West-end.

A connecting road from Tottenham Court Road to Gower Street - Store street is you typical Bloomsbury thoroughfare - with interesting shops and people with some lovely views right down to Senate House (when the trees don't obscure it!)

Don't miss the building centre store which is a great place to browse if you're into architecture and has the dubious accolade of bringing Centrepoint's designer - Richard Seifert - to attention after he won second prize in a competition to design it's facade.

A busy little street - lots to see - lots of people to snap.....

Thanks to Jane for reminding me of this location and for the info about the Service Station.....

Directions
From goodge street walk down towards Centrepoint and take the first left ....

-

The Way We See It | New Location | Worship Street

Worship Street| due 12 May 2008

Over to the East End for Worship Street - I love the name of this street although it doesn't really command much worship! I can find very little out about this street but it is very interesting in how it seems to draw the border (for me anyway) between the rich city and shoreditch.

There's the new development on the corner and slap bang next to it the old box frame railway bridge (where I think some of Mona Lisa was shot?)

Anyway it's a long road with lots of interesting nooks and crannies ....

Directions
From Liverpool street walk up Bishopsgate and take the second on your left ....
