St Thomas Street
We don't get south of the river enough - especially as now I live there! So this week we're slightly south for St. Thomas Street.

Rather Confusingly the main residence on this street is Guy's Hospital (rather than St.Thomas') which owes it's foundation to one Thomas Guy who was the son of a coal merchant in a former TWWSI location - Horselydown.

Even though suffering substantial damage in WWII the original hospital buildings still exist - although what it most striking (love of hate it) is the 1974 Guy's Tower. Designed by Watkins Gray it has the dubious accolade of being the highest hospital building in the world!

The road itself is quite typical of this area with it's almost seedy feeling. But it makes it all the more interesting - lets snap it before it's snapped up by the developers.
